Why Do You Need a Car DVR?

A car DVR, also known as a dashboard camera or dashcam, is a camera placed on the dashboard or attached to the interior windscreen of a car. While the engine is running, it is continuously video recording the view through the car’s windscreen. Some cars also have a rear-facing DVR installed to record the car’s rear view.

In Singapore, having a car DVR installed is gaining popularity among road users, mainly because the video recordings provide invaluable visual evidence when unexpected events occur. Even if you are a cautious driver, accidents may still occur when other road users drive recklessly. With a car DVR, you have video evidence in the event of an accident.

There are also more and more scammers out there, trying to fake accidents like getting knocked down by your car in order to claim money from insurance.  Another type of scam involves drivers abruptly slamming their brakes on purpose, causing the vehicles behind them to crash into their rear, in order to claim insurance. Without video evidence from a car DVR, it would be difficult to prove you are innocent.

3. Winners will be selected by the 1st of April 2016. Winners must Facebook Message the Singtech Facebook Page with their full name, contact number and IC number by 4th of April 2016. If we do not receive a response from you, we will conduct a redraw.
